Organization Objective/Purpose:
The
Office of Corporate Counsel at Charles Schwab provides legal services and support for the Charles Schwab family of financial
services companies to support business growth, advise regarding legal and other risks and meet the needs of clients and shareholders.
Brief
Description of Role:
Charles Schwab Bank is seeking an attorney with a minimum of five years of relevant experience
to provide support for its consumer lending business. The attorney will be an active partner in developing new products and
strategies by identifying legal and risk issues, providing legal advice and developing risk mitigation strategies. The position
requires the ability to analyze facts, law and regulatory guidance and provide legal conclusions and practical recommendations
to achieve business objectives.

Technical/Functional Qualifications:
- State Bar Member in good standing

J.D. from ABA Accredited law school
- Five+ years of relevant banking product, strategy, and business support
experience
- Experience in consumer lending, affinity relationships, third party outsourcing contracts and secondary
markets is highly desired.
- Five+ years of relevant experience with products such as: internet banking, mortgage
products, credit cards, overdraft credit lines, non-purpose securities lending and margin lending.
- Knowledge
of consumer finance laws and regulations including, TILA, FCRA, and ECOA preferred.
- Familiarity with UCC Articles
8 and 9 is also a plus.
- Candidates must also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and
strong research, analytical and legal drafting skills.
